Wisechain

I wanted to transfer my portfolio from another broker to Wisechain. They said they do not accept in-kind transfers for my asset type. I had to sell, withdraw, deposit, and rebuy - incurring taxes and spread costs. They did not tell me this before I signed up.

The onboarding at Wisechain was smooth which makes the subsequent experience even more frustrating. Once they have your money, the quality of service drops dramatically. Getting anyone to help you with an actual problem is nearly impossible.

After seeing ads for Wisechain online, I investigated. The company is listed in the IOSCO I-SCAN warnings database and has been flagged by Autorité des marchés financiers. Their website looks professional but that means nothing - many scam operations invest heavily in appearance. Always check the regulatory warnings before investing.

After for just over a year with Wisechain I requested to close my account and withdraw. They said I had to complete a 30-day cooling-off period. Then they said there was a minimum holding period for my last deposit. They make it as hard as possible to leave.

Tried to withdraw my funds from Wisechain and was told I needed to pay a "withdrawal tax" of 20%. This is a red flag. No legitimate broker charges withdrawal taxes. When I refused, they became aggressive and eventually stopped all communication. My entire investment is gone.

My withdrawal from Wisechain was rejected three times for vague reasons. Each time they asked for more documents. When I finally provided everything, they said my account was under review. for close to eighteen months of being strung along.

Wisechain has no proper customer support. The live chat is a bot. The phone number goes to a call center that cannot access your account. Email takes two weeks. When I had a real problem they were nowhere to be found.
