The FMA is warning investors about a phishing scam impersonating the Blockchain.com cryptocurrency exchange. Scammers are using Google advertisements to promote a fake version of Blockchain.com’s login screen. When a victim enters their login details, scammers take the passwords and use them to access the victim’s Blockchain.com accounts.

When Blockchain.com users search for “Blockchain” or “Blockchain.com”, a link to the phishing website is often the first result they will see. Because the scammers often use paid advertisements, their phishing websites will usually appear at the top of the search results, before the link to the official Blockchain.com website.

Inclusion in this database does not necessarily mean the firm has committed fraud - it may indicate they are not authorized to operate in a specific jurisdiction. Always verify directly with the relevant regulator before making investment decisions.
