Stern Markets

I gave Stern Markets a fair chance. After for roughly four months of usage, I can say with confidence that there are far better options available. The interface is clunky, the fees are higher than competitors, and the customer support team seems overwhelmed or understaffed.

I joined Stern Markets after comparing multiple platforms and from the start, things felt off. The signup process collected far more personal information than necessary, the verification took unreasonably long, and when I finally got access, the platform was nothing like what was advertised.

Do not use Stern Markets for anything serious. I used them for close to eighteen months for small trades and it was okay. When I deposited a larger amount and traded more, my account was flagged, my withdrawals were delayed, and I was asked to explain my trading. They treat active traders like criminals.

I wanted to transfer my portfolio from another broker to Stern Markets. They said they do not accept in-kind transfers for my asset type. I had to sell, withdraw, deposit, and rebuy - incurring taxes and spread costs. They did not tell me this before I signed up.

The reporting at Stern Markets is laughably bad. Tax documents are inaccurate, transaction histories have gaps, and trying to export data for your accountant is a nightmare. For a financial platform, getting the numbers right should be the bare minimum.

Their two-factor authentication was optional when I joined. I enabled it. Later I lost my phone and could not log in. Stern Markets recovery process took 3 weeks and required notarized documents. By then I had missed important trades. Their security is your inconvenience.

What really bothers me about Stern Markets is the disconnect between their marketing and reality. They position themselves as a premium service but deliver a below-average experience. Found them through a forum discussion and I fell for the polished exterior. Never again.

I opened an account with Stern Markets for the past six months ago. The platform frequently logs you out, orders fail to execute at the stated price, and when you complain they blame your internet connection. I have screenshots proving otherwise.

Stern Markets has the worst mobile app I have ever used for investing. It crashes constantly, features that work on desktop are missing entirely, and the security implementation is questionable at best. How they released this app is beyond me.

The only good thing about Stern Markets is that they remind you why regulation matters. I found them after attending a webinar they hosted. They are regulated in a jurisdiction with weak consumer protection. When things went wrong I had nowhere to turn. Stick to well-regulated brokers.
