I referred a friend to Status after seeing their ad online. We both deposited. The referral bonus never arrived. Support said we did not meet the terms. When we asked which terms they pointed to a clause that was added after we signed up. Shady.

Pros: Demo account available|Smooth onboarding|Social trading features

Cons: Spreads widen during volatile periods

My account was compromised and they did nothing

What really bothers me about Status is the disconnect between their marketing and reality. They position themselves as a premium service but deliver a below-average experience. Found them through a podcast recommendation and I fell for the polished exterior. Never again.

Pros: Full transparency|Segregated accounts

Cons: Limited social trading features|Charting tools need more indicators

Misleading advertising

Status has the worst mobile app I have ever used for investing. It crashes constantly, features that work on desktop are missing entirely, and the security implementation is questionable at best. How they released this app is beyond me.

Pros: Easy withdrawals|Personal attention|Intuitive for beginners|Good mobile app

Cons: Wait times can be long during peak hours|No crypto staking

They are hiding something

Their execution during news is terrible. I had limit orders in place. When the news hit, my orders were not filled at the limit price - they were filled much worse. Status said it was market conditions. Same news, another broker filled me properly. They are not honest.

Pros: Clear documentation|Economic calendar|Reliable uptime

Cons: Desktop app not available on Linux|Charting tools need more indicators

Checked with regulators - they're not licensed

After seeing ads for Status online, I investigated. The company is listed in the IOSCO I-SCAN warnings database and has been flagged by Autorité des marchés financiers. Their website looks professional but that means nothing - many scam operations invest heavily in appearance. Always check the regulatory warnings before investing.

Cons: Not registered with regulators|Unrealistic promises

They blocked me after I invested

I was contacted by Status through social media. They promised guaranteed returns of 20-30% monthly. Being naive, I invested. The "account manager" pressured me to invest more and more. When I finally tried to take profit, my account was frozen and they stopped responding. Classic Ponzi/advance fee fraud.

Cons: Lost entire investment|Reported to authorities|Unresponsive

No negative balance protection

Status changed their fee structure with one month notice. What was a flat fee became a percentage. For my account size it meant a huge increase. When I objected they said I could leave. So I am leaving and writing this review.

Pros: Segregated accounts|Responsive team|Fast execution

Cons: Some tools only available on higher tiers

The definition of disappointment

The only good thing about Status is that they remind you why regulation matters. I found them from a review site like this one. They are regulated in a jurisdiction with weak consumer protection. When things went wrong I had nowhere to turn. Stick to well-regulated brokers.

Pros: Wide product range|Great customer service|Low minimum deposit|Multiple order types

Cons: Inactivity fee applies after 12 months
