After for about three months with James Carter I requested to close my account and withdraw. They said I had to complete a 30-day cooling-off period. Then they said there was a minimum holding period for my last deposit. They make it as hard as possible to leave.

Pros: Excellent charting|Copy trading available|Educational resources

Cons: Minor UI glitches occasionally

Limited to their own products

I referred a friend to James Carter from a blog post comparing services. We both deposited. The referral bonus never arrived. Support said we did not meet the terms. When we asked which terms they pointed to a clause that was added after we signed up. Shady.

Pros: Fast deposits|Educational resources

Cons: Limited ETF selection|Wait times can be long during peak hours

Payout delayed for 60 days

The reporting at James Carter is laughably bad. Tax documents are inaccurate, transaction histories have gaps, and trying to export data for your accountant is a nightmare. For a financial platform, getting the numbers right should be the bare minimum.

Pros: Responsive team|Fast support response|Full transparency

Cons: Would like more payment methods|Desktop app not available on Linux

Beyond repair at this point

I am in a dispute with James Carter over a trade that was clearly erroneous. The price shown was wrong, I closed at a profit, and they reversed the trade and took the money back. They said it was a system error. So I lose and they keep? Unacceptable.

Pros: Excellent charting|Segregated accounts

Cons: Email notifications too frequent

Withdrawal limits are a trap

I gave James Carter a fair chance. After for nearly two years of usage, I can say with confidence that there are far better options available. The interface is clunky, the fees are higher than competitors, and the customer support team seems overwhelmed or understaffed.

Pros: Competitive fees|Quick verification

Cons: No phone support on weekends
