Interactive Investor

Trading with Interactive Investor for about a year now. The platform is stable and I haven't experienced any downtime during market hours. Charting tools are comprehensive. Margin rates are competitive. Only gripe is that some order types aren't available on mobile, so I need to use desktop for complex trades.

As someone who manages a six-figure portfolio, I need a broker I can trust. Interactive Investor delivers on all fronts - execution quality, reporting, tax documents, and security. The ISA and pension wrappers are straightforward to use. Transfers from my old broker were handled smoothly. Very satisfied.

Interactive Investor has a great platform with lots of features. However, the fee structure can be confusing and small trades can be expensive relative to the investment amount. For larger portfolios it makes more sense. Customer service is decent but not outstanding. Worth considering if you trade frequently.

I was generally happy with Interactive Investor until I experienced platform slowdowns during high-volatility market events. Twice I couldn't execute trades when I needed to most. They offered no compensation. For calm market conditions it's fine, but I can't trust it when it matters most.

I use Interactive Investor primarily for my ISA and general investment account. The fund selection is extensive, charges are reasonable, and the regular investment feature is perfect for pound-cost averaging. Research section helps me make informed decisions. Only wish their app was a bit more modern.
