Catalystasset

I had high hopes for Catalystasset through my accountant's suggestion, but my experience has been disappointing. Customer support is slow, the platform has frequent issues, and their fee structure is not as transparent as advertised. I am actively looking for alternatives now.

I wanted to transfer my portfolio from another broker to Catalystasset. They said they do not accept in-kind transfers for my asset type. I had to sell, withdraw, deposit, and rebuy - incurring taxes and spread costs. They did not tell me this before I signed up.

After doing some research AFTER the fact (I know, I should have done this first), I discovered that Catalystasset is not authorized by any legitimate financial regulator. They are operating illegally. The website looks very professional but it's all a facade. Please check the regulatory warnings database before investing with ANY company.

Customer support at Catalystasset seems to be run by people who have never used the platform. Every time I call with an issue, I end up explaining how their own system works before they can help me. It would be funny if my money was not involved.

Their execution during news is terrible. I had limit orders in place. When the news hit, my orders were not filled at the limit price - they were filled much worse. Catalystasset said it was market conditions. Same news, another broker filled me properly. They are not honest.

Catalystasset has no proper customer support. The live chat is a bot. The phone number goes to a call center that cannot access your account. Email takes two weeks. When I had a real problem they were nowhere to be found.

I was about to invest with Catalystasset but decided to check their regulatory status first. They claim to be regulated but I could not find them on any official register. Financial Conduct Authority has actually issued a warning about this firm. Thank goodness I checked before sending any money.

I requested my data from Catalystasset under GDPR. They sent a partial export that was missing months of transactions. When I asked for the rest they said it was a technical issue. Still waiting. They do not take data rights seriously.

Catalystasset advertises low fees but once you dig into the fine print, there are numerous charges that add up quickly. Inactivity fees, withdrawal fees, currency conversion fees - it all eats into your returns. I wish I had read the terms more carefully.
